Improv Comedy Club
San Jose, CA

We were fortunate to be involved with this historical renovation of a 1904 vaudeville theater. As the oldest theater in San Jose, the architecural attraction is immediately visible. In keeping with the theme, all of the front of house speaker system is suspended behind our acoustically transparent stage drapery. The room is treated extensively with 21oz. velour drapery, which enhances the original look of the room and creates for flawless acoustics. Electro-Voice X-Array speakers make up the center cluster while Electro-Voice Qrx Series provide the rest of the 5.1 capable system. All power is provided by QSC amplifiers.

Stage lighting is a simple mix of 36 x 2.4K conventional dimmers and Coemar automated fixtures controlled by an LP-x24 console.

A 20' diagonal video screen and Sanyo 3000 lumen projector provide video and VGA playback along with a Panasonic camera system for recording live acts.

A Lightronics 12 x 2.4K dimmer controls all the low voltage, incandescent and neon architecural fixtures in the main space. Three remote stations and a custom digital timer are interfaced to provide Title 24 compliance and simple overall management.

This is a beautiful facility, and with the nationally known acts on stage, this is one 570 seat theater that makes you feel like you are almost on stage with them.
