Rumba Room

Universal City Walk, CA

Rumba Room is the place to go for Salsa dancing! Beautifully renovated from an earlier life as a billiard hall, this two-story club includes a main stage downstairs where local and national acts like Julio Iglasias have entertained. The audio system features Radian speakers and Crest amplifiers. Processing is mostly Rane with automated switching from DJ to the FOH Soundcraft 32 channel console. Stage lighting consists of pars and lekos, all with the richest colors of dichroic glass filters. Coef MP250 moving yoke fixtures add all the pizzazz along with a 300 milliwatt argon laser and mirror system.

The upper level contains a VIP dance lounge where the best DJ's mix it up for the hottests dancers. EV contractor 15" 2 way speakers and dual 18" Radian subs are powered by QSC amplifiers. The visual features are the five archi-tainment columns. These structural pieces are wrapped with translucent fiberglass and lit internally with special FX fixtures. There are about 60 fixtures in all, but all the eye can see are eight moving mirror fixtures with custom Rumba Room gobos.

The entry lounge features a "faux" waterfall created with projections on a 25' high wall. High visual impact on a budget!
