Oriental Mission Church
This large worship facility not only broadcasts sermons daily but hosts live music and theatrical events of all kinds. The large number of AV staff made system design decisions both a pleasure and a challenge as well as did the difficult room acoustics.
We decided to maintain the existing EAW JFX80 side delay speakers as well as adding a few EAW JF60 speakers for specific front-fill areas. Two existing dual 18” EAW subwoofers were also retained for their acceptable quality and room position below the stage.
The main system however got a total make over with Adamson Spektrix and Spektrix Wave line array speakers. An LCR system was required for the 80’ wide stage and essentially 110’ wide room. Low ceiling height and 80 foot depth made for precise calculations and detailed installation.
Perhaps the most critical component were the three XTA 448 processors with custom programming. Their nine distinct delay points existing with rear, balcony and exterior speaker positions needed changes in EQ, gain levels and delay adjustments for live music, speech, choir, AV playback and theatrical audio formats.
We provided a Xantech contact closure system via the RS-232 port and RS-485 interface on the XTA to accomplish simplified access from FOH. Technical Director Duho Kang was extremely satisfied that these changes could quickly and precisely be implemented by any of his numerous board operators.
We are proud to add Oriental Mission Church to our growing list of House of Worship clientele.
